I learned today I am a finalist for another Green Eyeshade award. Will I win? No. I was lucky enough to win last year, competing against giant papers like the St. Petersburg Times. The competition is stiff. But it really is an honor to be a finalist. I’m in good company.
The Green Eyeshade is an 11-state competition sponsored by the Society of Professional Journalists.

The other finalists are Carey Wagner of The South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Ft. Lauderdale and the awesome John Pendygraft of the St. Petersburg Times.
The winners of the 60th annual competition winners will be announced this summer.
