I love colored glass, and for this reason I’m often mesmerized by empty wine bottles.
I’ve collected them for years, storing them in boxes and drawers, waiting to find a way to display them.
I hung some over my kitchen window; Each afternoon they make beautiful colors dance across the room from the sunlight.
I had an idea a while back to use the bottles as lights. Two weeks ago I decided to make that idea a reality. I drew up a rough sketch and set out for Home Depot.
I picked up some pieces of red oak and wood stain.
Electrical cords, string lighting, wood screws, and some wiring tools.
Two days later, the stain was dry and the project complete.
I wanted to share the end result with you. I’ve never been much of a carpenter, since I’ve always lived in small apartments. But I’m proud of how it turned out.
